KinderKot Portable Cot
A portable cot is a great idea for any parents who want to be have the flexibility to stay away for the night and have somewhere for the child to sleep (who wouldn't want that?). After looking at quite a few options, we opted for the European designed KinderKot, because of the following reasons:
- safety: as a complete tent like structure, the cot has the added safety of keeping the baby secure inside. When used outdoors, it supplies some UV protection.
- weight: the KinderKot is light (around 3kg), which I would have thought was essential for a portable cot, however many of the cots we looked at weighed many time more than this one, and would be difficult for a new mother to move around.
- size: the KinderKot is very compact, it folds down to a disc shape and fits into a carry bag, unlike most others which folded down to a long cylinder shape.
- usability: simple assembly that can be done in seconds.
- versatility: can also be used at the park or at the beach as a protective cocoon, particularly when the zippered top mesh cover is closed.
You may not have one of these cots available, but following the guidelines we used to decide on the best cot for us, you can also go through the same process to decide on what is best for you.
